BODYWORK

I approach bodywork as a time to support you in letting go of the physical, mental, and emotional tensions you’ve been holding in your body. Through massage, excess tension is released providing you with more fuel for healthy living.

  • Do you experience worry and anxiety regularly?
  • Do you toss and turn at night unable to sleep?
  • Are you unable to focus and concentrate?
  • Do you experience tight and sore muscles?
  • Do you find yourself needing a pick-me-up in the middle of the day?

All of these are signs that you are holding tension. Massage supports you as this tension is released to create more ease in your body.

More than one study has shown the effectiveness of massage therapy for back pain. In fact, one 2003 study showed it worked better than acupuncture or spinal modification for persistent low back pain — reducing the need for painkillers by 36%.’ – Web MD on massage therapy

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is included with most of my bodywork sessions. Essential oils are applied to your feet, along your spine and on specific areas as needed.

When you arrive, we’ll talk briefly about how you are feeling and where you want to focus. I’ll make some suggestions for your blend and create a custom formula for you.  The bonus: it continues to work on your body well after your session.

I began incorporating essential oils into my offerings in 1993 and now use DoTerra oils exclusively because of their purity and consistent high quality. I love using them and I hope you will love them in your session as well.

If for any reason you prefer your session without scents, an unscented carrier oil can be applied.

Biodynamic Craniosacral

Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy is incorporated into all of my clients’ sessions.

The therapy is based on the concept that health is inherent in the body and expresses itself in every living process. As part of your session, my goal will be to help you create a greater relationship between your body and its inherent health.

Challenges to health such as injury, illness, or trauma are held in the energy dynamics of the body along with the physical structure. The beauty of the Biodynamic approach is that it works with your native resources for change and healing.
